What to Expect

Your Free Consult, Step by Step

No pitch and no pressure. Most people leave the call with at least one thing to try that week.

1

Pick a time

Choose a 25-minute slot online. You’ll get a Zoom link and a reminder by email.

2

Tell me what’s in the way

Deadlines, email, phone habits, mornings, school. We’ll talk through what’s happening and what you’ve already tried.

3

See how coaching would work

I’ll explain how I’d approach it and what sessions look like. Then you decide, in your own time, whether to book.

Coaching Topics

What Can we Work On?

Coaching is practical. We pick one problem, build a system for it, and check whether it held up.

Procrastination

Starting the thing you have been avoiding all week.

Email Overload

An inbox you can trust instead of one you dread.

Phone and screen distraction

Settings and blockers that do the resisting for you.

Time Management

Calendars and reminders that you keep using.

Household chores

Laundry and dishes on a routine, not a rescue.

Impulsive spending

A pause between wanting it and buying it.

Does coaching really work?

What clients say

★★★★★

Change your life for the better

Spencer helped me find practical solutions to my problems and kept me accountable for implementing them by asking me about my progress.
I’ve been able to use what I’ve learned to improve my confidence, my time management, and my overall quality of life. If you’re thinking about coaching, don’t be afraid to reach out to him! It can really change your life for the better.

★★★★★

an arsenal of well-thought-out approaches

It’s been astonishingly helpful to chat with someone who gets it. From what I’ve seen so far, Spencer is a role model in setting the ADHD-brain up for success. He has an arsenal of well-thought-out approaches to common challenges… I’d wholeheartedly recommend coaching with Spencer… I’m confident in saying it’s life-changing!

New and improved version of myself

Things are going great! It’s awesome. I feel like I’m on top of the ADHD. I’ve conquered it, it’s wonderful!
Every time I get something done my dad’s like, ‘Woah, where’s the old guy? Who’s the new guy?’
It does kind of feel like a new and improved version of myself.

Find what you’re really looking for

This is not the therapy you’re used to

I don’t have anything against therapy. I love my therapist. But sometimes it’s just not practical enough.

Coaching is a fit if you want

  • Tools and routines chosen for you, not another app hunt
  • Someone who asks next week whether you did it
  • Help with a specific problem: deadlines, email, chores, screens
  • To work alongside your therapist or doctor, not instead of them

Coaching is not

  • A diagnosis or an assessment
  • Medical treatment or access to medication
  • Therapy for anxiety, depression, or trauma
  • Crisis support

What it costs

Ontario student on OSAP?

The Bursary for Students with Disabilities lists “ADD/ADHD coach” as a funded service, up to $2,000 a year. It’s a grant, not a loan. Mention it on your free consult and I’ll walk you through the estimate and paperwork your school needs.

Good questions

Before you book

No. Coaching isn’t gated on a diagnosis. If distraction, procrastination, or follow-through is the problem, we can work on it.

On Zoom. I’m based in Kingston, Ontario, and work with clients across Canada.

Usually not. Most benefit plans cover regulated therapists and don’t cover coaching. You’ll get a receipt for every session, so it’s worth asking your plan or health spending account. Ontario students on OSAP may be able to use the disability bursary; see the cost section above.

It depends on the goal. Half of my clients work with me for four sessions or fewer, and nearly three in four for eight or fewer. Some stay longer. You decide after each session whether to book the next.

Yes. For teens, a parent is welcome to join the free consult.
